Massachusetts Department of Higher Education logoQuinn Bill Certified: Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Criminal Justice programs are Police Career Incentive Pay Program (PCIPP) certified by the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education. The PCIPP Program, also known as the Quinn Bill, was enacted by the Massachusetts Legislature to encourage police officers to earn degrees in law enforcement and criminal justice. It provides educational incentives for regular full-time officers in participating cities and towns through salary increases.

In classes with busy, working adults just like yourself, you'll explore key subject areas such as criminal law and procedure, criminology, policing, corrections, ethics, law enforcement, crime deterrence, and deviance and social control. You'll improve your skills in critical thinking, problem solving, presentation and communication as you apply theory to practice and acquire the academic foundation for future graduate work.

Introducing a new online format that provides remote learning; allowing you to balance life’s responsibilities while pursuing your degree. This enables flexibility to access the course at your convenience while you remain connected with your professors and peers.

Courses begin every eight weeks

The time required to complete your degree depends on the number of courses you take each term, which you can determine according to your personal and professional responsibilities. With new courses beginning at Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø every eight weeks, your progress can be as fast or as flexible as you choose.

Make the most of your transfer credits and work experience

Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø helps you fast-track your degree completion by offering:

  • Transfer credits for courses completed at other colleges - with no time limit on transfer credits, including science courses. At least 30 credits must be completed at Õý°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø to earn a degree.
  • College credit for a passing score on CLEP, DANTES or Regents examinations.

Part-time or Full-time - you choose the pace that's right for you

The Division of Continuing and Graduate Studies offers 8-week terms. Our evening and online schedules provide you the opportunity to pursue your education while managing life's responsibilities.

Part-Time
Carrying a part-time schedule, you can complete up to 6 courses a year by carrying one course each term.

Full-Time
Attend full-time by carrying a part-time course load.  How?  By enrolling in 2 courses every 8 weeks, you will complete a full-time course load on a part-time basis.
