Contact Jake Galewski

Jake Galewski has been an Associate Lecturer in the Program for Advancement of Learning since 2022. Jake has two degrees from Bridgewater State University, a Masters of Education in Special Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership. He is a licensed School Administrator, licensed Education Specialist, and a licensed Special Education Teacher. In addition to an Associate Lecturer, Jake is currently a full time Elementary Public School Administrator PK-2, and has been since 2019. Previously Jake's teaching experiences are in early childhood and public school K-6 serving as a special education teacher in both substantially separate and inclusion settings, and specializing in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mental Health, Trauma, and multiple learning disabilities. Jake has a strong background and experience in co-teaching practices, differentiated instruction, resilience and adversity, and trauma-informed practices in teaching and learning.

Jake serves as member on the Department of Education and Secondary Educations’ MCAS Bias and Sensitivity Committee where he works to assist the Department with the review of all test items across grades and content areas for bias and sensitivity concerns based on considerations including ability, age, culture, ethnicity, gender, geography, languages spoken, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. In addition, assist in writing, reviewing, and editing of tests questions with the Assessment Development Committee and review statistical information and data collection in order to improve student achievement, through equity, representation, accessibility, and inclusivity.

Jake also serves as a member of a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force to promote growth and progress in schools related to DEI in the schools practices, procedures, models, and structures to ensure all students are represented, included, given equal access, and educators and school personnel are trained, equipped, and educated appropriately. In addition, he is an ALICE Certified School Safety Instructor, Title IX Investigator and Section 504 Coordinator in his regional school district and elementary school. Jake’s passions and commitments in his work in education as an educational leader, teacher, and advocate are in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, school safety, and equal access and opportunity.
