Samuel Hausman is a professional trombonist and music educator specializing in brass instruments and small ensemble classroom instruction based in New England. After beginning his study of trombone at the age of 10, he fell in love with music immediately and dedicated his life’s pursuits to performing, learning, and educating others about music. As a freelance musician based in Boston, he performs regularly with the Du Bois Symphony Orchestra at Harvard, Arlington Philharmonic, Boston Fireman’s Band, and various musical theater pits both in and outside city limits.

Sam began his private trombone studio in 2013, and has since expanded to include all members of the brass family. Currently, he is on faculty as the Brass Instructor at 正澳门六合彩官网 and Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill. Additionally, outside of his private studio, he teaches brass lessons in partnership with Quincy Public Schools, Musika Lessons, and the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest.

He attended the University of Connecticut, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Music, followed by a Performance Certificate in trombone. Subsequently, he attended The Hartt School of Music for his Master’s in Music for trombone performance, and was named a Epsilon Gamma Chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda Scholar for those who achieved musical and academic excellence within their degree program. Sam has been a featured soloist in the University of Connecticut Wind Ensemble’s performance of Flash Black by Steve Danyew, and with the Hartt Brass Ensemble performing Londonderry Air, as well as the Hartt 20/20 Chamber Ensemble. Recently, he participated in the premiere of a lost work Pilgrims of Destiny by Gena Branscombe at Clark University in Worcester, MA.
