The Counseling Center is available to see students who are in crisis, due to various mental health reasons. Signs of a possible mental health crisis may include:

  • Intentional self-injury
  • Uncontrollable symptoms
  • Hallucinations or other disordered thinking
  • If you have experienced a sexual assault
  • If you are in physical danger or believe you are being stalked, harassed or threatened by another person
  • If you are unable to provide for your own food or shelter

*If any of these events are currently, or recently occurring, please contact the Counseling Center as soon as possible. You may obtain an emergency appointment by calling the front desk at  617-333-2182 or by walking into the Counseling Center at 1016 Brush Hill Road (Wellness Center) and proceed to the second floor, during normal business hours.

*In the event you experience a mental health emergency outside of normal business hours (e.g., evenings and weekends) please call Public Safety at 617-333-2222. Public Safety will help you to get connected to the appropriate resources. This may include, but is not limited to, connecting you with the 24/7 Counselor On Call.

**If your symptoms, while not emergent, are still distressing, we may ask to schedule you for an appointment at a different time, in order to maintain emergency access to students who are in crisis and/or connected with a counselor via the 24/7 Counselor On Call at 617-333-2908.
